Ian’s art

As an artist Ian has benefited from no formal training whatsoever. Most his works are drawn with ink on paper, occasionally with acrylics and rarely with watercolours; Ian’s most recent drawings are digital. The works are always autobiographical. Their recurring varied themes are sometimes serious, even downright tragic and often not. Their curious and sometimes humorous titles offer an insight to a very private life. Ian’s desire is to depict the human condition in its most universal aspect. The drawings range from the purely abstract to sketches of varied realism of people and objects. The actions of the character called ‘the man’, like his thoughts and sentiments, remain clouded in a light-hearted mystery.

Ian has exhibited in Finland, Germany, and Japan. Some of Ian’s works are displayed at Arkadia, and all the drawings are available as art prints. Each drawing is only printed one single time. For print prices, sizes, and other details, please contact Ian.
